Wusthof Classic 8 Piece Block Set is the point where a knife drawer becomes a kitchen. Five forged blades, shears, a honing steel and a dark-stained ash block cover essentially everything a home cook does with a knife — without a single piece you will never pick up.

What each blade is for

The 8" chef's knife does the bulk of the work. The 8" carving knife takes long, clean passes through roasts and poultry. The 8" serrated bread knife saws through crust without crushing crumb, and doubles on tomatoes and citrus. The 4.5" utility knife fills the awkward gap between chef's and paring, and the 3.5" paring knife handles peeling, hulling and anything you do in your hand rather than on the board.

All five are forged from one piece of high-carbon stainless steel, hardened to 58 Rockwell and sharpened by Wusthof's PEtec process for a 20% sharper edge with twice the edge retention. The full bolster is also a finger guard, and the triple-riveted handle carries the embedded Wusthof trident.
