The defining feature here is the wide, open-mouthed bowl with optic impact — the largest and most generously proportioned bowl shape in the Performance white wine lineup. The wide opening gives the rich bouquet of oaked Chardonnay room to develop its superbly diverse range of aromas — smoky, toasty, buttery, mineral, and fruit-forward notes that define the greatest expressions of Montrachet, Meursault, and California Chardonnay — while the optic impact pattern increases the inner surface area for greater aromatic revelation. Crucially, the bowl is sized to allow this complexity to develop while minimizing the risk of over-concentration — the great challenge of full-bodied, richly flavored white wines in a glass that is too small or too narrow to let them breathe.

Re-developed in 2018 as part of the Performance series, the bowl shape emphasizes the finesse of full-bodied white wines, supports their multi-layered aromatic depth, and creates a luxurious expression of balance and elegance in the glass.
