Ankarsrum Assistent Original Stand Mixer Essential Package, 600 Watt, 7 Liter Stainless Steel Bowl

The Ankarsrum Assistent Original Stand Mixer Essential Package (model AKM6230) is a Swedish stand mixer designed around bread. Instead of a motor in a tilting head, the Assistent puts its 600-watt motor in the base and turns the 7-liter stainless steel bowl while the kneading tools stay in place. That layout keeps the weight low, so the mixer stays planted on the counter even with a full 5 kg (11 lb) batch of dough, and it leaves the top of the bowl open so you can add flour or liquid and watch the dough develop as it kneads.

At the heart of the machine is the Dough Roller, a tool carried over from the original 1940s design. As the bowl turns, the roller presses the dough against the side of the bowl while the Dough Knife folds it back toward the center, much like kneading by hand. Let the roller move freely at first, then lock it a few centimeters from the bowl wall as the dough firms up. The same roller mixes cake batter and cookie dough and whips cream and egg whites. For heavy or very large batches, swap in the Dough Hook. The motor adjusts its power to the load, the gear system runs quietly, and overload protection guards the motor.

The Essential Package includes the 7-liter stainless steel bowl, Dough Roller, Dough Knife, Dough Hook, a spatula with a notch for cleaning the roller, a proofing lid so the dough can rise right in the bowl, and a digital recipe book. Controls are two knobs: variable speed on one, and an on/off switch with a 12-minute timer on the other. The mixer runs on 120 V and has a removable power cord.

Ankarsrum offers the Essential Package in a wide range of colors, from Black and Glossy White to Black Chrome, Royal Blue, Forest Green and Nordic Sage. Every color shares the same motor, bowl and tools.

Care: The stainless steel bowl is dishwasher safe; clean the machine base and the other tools as described in the Ankarsrum user manual.

Key Product Features

• Motor in the base: The 600-watt motor sits low in a cast aluminum body and the bowl turns around fixed tools, so the Assistent stays steady on the counter while kneading stiff bread dough.
• Large 7-liter stainless steel bowl: Knead up to 5 kg (11 lb) of dough or recipes with up to 1.5 liters of liquid, and proof the dough right in the bowl under the included lid.
• Two ways to knead: The signature Dough Roller and Dough Knife work the dough much like hand kneading and also whip cream and egg whites; the Dough Hook handles large, firm batches.
• Simple two-knob controls: Variable speed on one knob and an on/off switch with a 12-minute timer on the other, plus an adjustable arm, overload protection and a removable cord.
• Built to last: Made in Sweden since 1940 and individually tested before shipping, with a 7-year warranty on the machine base. Add Ankarsrum attachments for pasta, ice cream, grinding and more.
