Riedel Ultra Magnum Decanter

The Riedel Ultra Magnum Decanter (2400/13) is a nod to traditional decanter design, with sweeping curves and a broad, wide base. It has been part of Riedel's handmade range since 1994.

The wide base spreads the wine out over a large surface, so it gets plenty of contact with air. Riedel notes this makes it well suited to young wines that benefit from aeration. Riedel states it can hold either a standard 750 ml bottle or a 1.5 L magnum, so the same decanter works for an everyday bottle and for larger formats at a dinner party.

Each piece is mouth-blown from crystal glass by Riedel's master glassblowers in its European workshops. Because the shape is formed by hand, no two decanters are exactly alike, and small variations in size, tiny bubbles or slight surface marks are a normal part of the process rather than defects.

Care: Hand wash only; this decanter is not dishwasher safe. Rinse it with clear water right after use, and for residue or stains Riedel recommends RIEDEL Bottle Cleaner (sold separately).
